Each cup has a tactile unglazed exterior and a glazed interior that resists staining. Iron and sand in the clay create subtle variation across the set.

Arita has produced porcelain since the early seventeenth century. Slowform works with a local workshop whose knowledge of porcelain stone, casting and firing informed the cup’s material and surface. Each cup is made in Arita from a custom clay blend containing iron and sand.
