A stackable tray made from Douglas fir and developed with MSSR Works. Rest 01 features one recessed placement shaped precisely for a slowform cup that can also be used for holding everyday objects or food items.
Stepped circular feet allow the tray to stack securely with any number of Rest trays as a modular system. A food-safe transparent finish protects the timber while leaving the grain, tone and natural variation of the wood visible.

Rest 01 features one recessed placement shaped precisely to fit the base of a slowform cup. The tray can be used as serveware for coffee and food, or separately as a place for keys and other everyday objects.
The underside is formed by a stepped circular foot. The base settles precisely into the recessed placements of another Rest tray, allowing Rest 01 to stack securely with Rest 01 or another Rest 02.

Mathias Rasmussen is a Danish woodworker and furniture designer working at the intersection of craftsmanship, material honesty and functional design. Trained as a wood machinist, Mathias completed his apprenticeship in 2019 with the highest honours.
His work is guided by a philosophy of honesty in construction; an approach that allows materials and joinery to remain visible and integral to the final expression.
